Réplica de la Columbia Pictures a "Mutiny on the Bounty", estrenada ese mismo año por la Metro-Goldwyn-Mayer. A finales del siglo XVIII, en plena guerra entre Inglaterra y Francia, a bordo del Defiant, un barco de guerra inglés comandado por el capitán Crawford, un oficial de navío impone a la tripulación unas condiciones de trabajo insoportables.
